Girl Plus Environment is on a mission to educate, engage, and empower Black and Brown girls, women, and non-binary individuals to stand up for climate and environmental justice in their own communities. We’re looking for a highly skilled Training Lead to lead our third energy justice ambassador cohort. This cohort is a part of a larger project at GPE called The Protecting Our Energy Project. The responsibilities for this role are listed below:
Responsibilities

Spearhead the development and implementation of an advocacy training program tailored to empower Black women business owners with insights into Georgia's energy policy landscape, equipping them with strategies to effectively engage and reduce energy costs

Provide comprehensive training sessions to cohort participants, facilitating their ability to drive impactful action and foster heightened engagement in local energy policy across their consumers

Develop materials for trainings such as slide decks, agendas, emails, and talking notes to properly prepare for sessions

Offer dedicated support to cohort members in conceiving and executing community education events aimed at fostering widespread community support and empowerment for advocating clean, equitable energy policies to help create community buy-in and efficacy to stand up for clean, equitable energy policy

Lead the establishment and oversight of a dynamic statewide energy action network, fostering collaboration and coordination among diverse stakeholders to advance sustainable energy initiatives across Georgia

Manage any logistics needed for onboarding and supporting cohort participants

Skills and Qualifications

Proven track record of facilitating trainings (will be asked to share recordings and/or slide decks if selected to interview)

Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
-
Experience convening different individuals (could be through leading a workgroup, overseeing a network, etc.)

Exceptional planning skills for in person events

Knowledge of the energy policy landscape in Georgia

Knowledge of communications strategies and best practices for motivating action

An upbeat personality for facilitation and eagerness to build meaningful relationships with participants

Experience using virtual technology tools such as Monday.com, Zoom, Google Suite products, and Clockify

Detail oriented

Experience working with businesses or business owners

Knowledgeable about IRA (Inflation Reductions Act)

Compensation & Benefits
This is a one-year part-time, contract position, requiring no more than 20 hours a week. This is an hourly position at $20-$22 an hour. Currently there are no benefits included in this role. There may be opportunities to extend this contract based on performance and funding
