About the event

In celebration of Black History Month, Girl Plus Environment and Spelman College’s Social Justice Department are teaming up for a special Teach-In about Environmental Justice (EJ) on February 25th at 6:00 PM in Spelman’s NASA Auditorium (SCI 134). We’ll break down the key concepts of Environmental Justice, explore current issues facing Atlanta, and celebrate the incredible pioneers shaping the field. Plus, you’ll hear from a dynamic panel of speakers, including:

  • Alexis Bussey, EJ Associate, Spelman Social Program

  • Danait Issac, Community Manager, Girl Plus Environment

  • Japera Jeff, President, Spelman's Environmental Task Force

  • Iesha Baldwin, Sustainability Coordinator, Sustainable Spelman

  • Eboni Goddard, Program Director of HBCU-NPS Internships, Southeast Regional Director & NPS Diversity Lead of NPCA
