About the event

Join Girl Plus Environment and Southern Black Girls & Women’s Consortium for a two-part virtual webinar series exploring how environmental justice issues show up in our everyday lives.

On July 15, we’ll discuss Clean Beauty Justice and examine how personal care and beauty products can expose Black women to harmful chemicals. Together, we’ll explore what consumers, advocates, and communities can do to push for safer and healthier alternatives.

On July 16, we’ll dive into Hot Girl Summer: Extreme Heat, Protection, and Risks, a culturally grounded conversation about how rising temperatures are becoming a serious public health challenge. We’ll discuss the impacts of extreme heat on Black communities and share practical strategies for staying safe, prepared, and resilient.

Whether you’re interested in environmental health, climate justice, advocacy, or community care, this series will provide actionable information and meaningful conversation at the intersection of climate, health, and equity.
