This groundbreaking initiative provides tailored support for Black women entrepreneurs to integrate clean energy practices into their businesses, drive innovation, and champion sustainability in their industries.
The 2024 fellows represent a diverse range of entrepreneurial expertise and a shared commitment to building a more sustainable and equitable future. They are:
Kristina Crawley, founder of KC Tax and Financial Solutions
Nia Wilson, founder of The Natural Elixir
Debra ‘Debbi Snax’ Randolph, founder of Snax Ink Studios
Bree Webber, founder of Aurelia
Shan Clarke, founder of Sunsume
“We’re honored to support these incredible women as they fuse climate justice and entrepreneurship to create meaningful change in their industries and communities,” said Diamond Spratling, Executive Director of Girl Plus Environment. “Through this fellowship, we aim to elevate the voices of Black women leaders in the green economy and provide them with the tools they need to thrive.”
About the Fellowship:
The Blk Grl Businesses x Green Economy Fellowship is a 4-month program that equips Black women entrepreneurs with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to implement clean energy solutions within their businesses. Fellows engage in monthly workshops focused on integrating clean energy practices into their businesses, navigating the transition to a green economy, and advocating for climate justice while engaging their clients and communities. Each fellow benefits from mentorship by industry experts and receives financial support, including a $1,000 stipend for participation and a $500 energy fund to implement clean energy initiatives within their communities or businesses.
This initiative is a part of Girl Plus Environment’s broader mission to shift the narrative around who leads in climate and environmental justice and to amplify the leadership of women of color in solving today’s most pressing climate challenges.
