Girl Plus Environment (GPE) is excited to launch the Girlies Green Fund, a mini-grant opportunity designed to put resources directly into the hands of GPE members who are ready to create meaningful environmental and climate action in their communities.
The Girlies Green Fund supports member-led projects that educate, engage, organize, and mobilize communities around environmental justice, conservation, climate action, and community resilience.
About the Fund
Through the Girlies Green Fund, GPE will support 20 member-led community projects throughout the state of Georgia that advance environmental and climate action.
Projects should be community-centered, achievable within the grant period, and designed to create a clear opportunity for people to learn, participate, or take action.
Examples of eligible activations may include:

Environmental or climate justice workshops

Community cleanups or conservation projects

Climate education events

Community listening sessions or conversations

Youth environmental activities

Environmental health and wellness activities

Climate advocacy and civic engagement

Community storytelling or arts-based environmental projects

Food, water, energy, or air-quality initiatives

Other creative community-based environmental activations
Activations do not have to be large to make a meaningful impact! Applicants are encouraged to think creatively.
FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
What is the Girlies Green Fund?
The Girlies Green Fund was created to invest directly in GPE members as leaders, organizers, and advocates by providing small grants that support community-centered environmental and climate justice activities. Funding will be distributed in amounts between $500 and $2,500 depending on the strength of the application and anticipated projects.
Who is eligible to apply?
The grants are strictly open to:

Registered Girl Plus Environment members who (2) reside in the state of Georgia and are (3) between the ages of 18-29 at the time of application.
I am not a GPE member. Can I register to apply for the fund?
No, but membership is free and easy to obtain. Register to become a member HERE! After you are registered, you are permitted to apply.
What is the timeline for the awarded projects?
If awarded funding, the projects must be completed between January and May 2027. Final reporting must be submitted by June 2027.
I’ve never completed a funded project; can I apply?
Definitely! We will award funding to strong applicants who can demonstrate a fully executable project that promotes a culture of conservation and equitable stewardship of Georgia’s natural resources. Put your best foot forward when completing the application and be sure to demonstrate your history of project management/implementation to create a holistic picture for the award panel.
What kind of projects will the grant fund?
Funding is reserved for community-level projects and activations that promote environmental and climate actions in Georgia. This can be anything from neighborhood guides to community meetings to multi-day activations that educate, activate, and/or mobilize around a specific issue area. Ideate or amplify existing projects that further the environmental justice movement for Georgians.
What is the deadline for the application?
The application will be open from September 1, 2026, to September 30, 2026 @ 11:59 PM EST. No submissions will be accepted past this deadline.
